Dinner Gong Description: Dinner gong. British. Base made from German
21cm howitzer shell casing with cut-work butterflies; flat brass from shell
casing riveted to sides with copper rivets. German 77mm shell casing suspended
from center. All exterior surfaces engraved. Larger shell dated
December 1914 on headstamp; smaller shell dated December 1917 on headstamp.
91/2" wide at base by 121/2" high.
